PayePass Verify Award Criteria

INTRODUCTION

The purpose of the Verify Award is for clients of PayePass to:

  • Demonstrate to its contractor employees, supply chain, HMRC and other payment recipients that they are correctly calculating all PAYE salaries
  • Demonstrate to them that all required payments for PAYE salaries are paid in full

To achieve and maintain a Verify Award, all clients must certify at the time of initial application and that during the period for which they hold an Award (if issued) that they satisfy this Criteria and accept that:

  • No Award will be issued if during a Verify Audit it is established, in the reasonable opinion of PayePass, that the Criteria has not been met
  • An Award will be withdrawn if, in the reasonable opinion of PayePass, the Criteria is not being met
  • During the period for which an Award is held they will be subject to random sampling requests for PayePass to be satisfied that the Criteria is being met
INITIAL AND CONTINUING CRITERIA

At the time of initial application, during the Verify Audit process and the period for which an Award is held, all businesses will certify that the following criteria is and will continue to be met:

  • They do not knowingly miscalculate any element of a PAYE salary
  • They do not withhold any payments from a PAYE salary
  • They do not operate any practices that withhold lawfully due payments to contractors
  • They do not operate any practices that withhold lawfully due payments to HMRC or other recipients
  • They do not operate any practices that result in a secret profit being made
  • They do not offer or promote any tax avoidance scheme
  • They do not offer or promote any tax evasion scheme
VERIFY AUDIT CRITERIA

For PayePass to undertake a transparent and consistent independent audit upon the PAYE payroll functions applied to contractor employees of its clients, all businesses must undertake that they will provide the following:

  • Assignment invoices/timesheets
  • Bank statements
  • Payslips
  • P60’s
  • P45’s
  • RTI submissions
  • Any other information or documentation reasonably required
